Digital Planning with Google and Apple Calendars – Can I sync my digital planner with my Google Calendar?

Many of us appreciate the productivity features of Google and Apple Calendar across our devices. With their user-friendly interface and notification or alarm options, both have become the go-to tools for millions of people around the world, helping them take control of their schedules with precision and ease wherever they go. However, digital planner fans can argue that these apps do not have the versatility and unlimited creativity digital planners bring to the table.

The good news is – we can now have the best of both worlds with our newest 2024 DigiSparkles Hybrid Weeks Extended planners! These have an added feature of embedded Google Calendar and Apple Calendar links to all-day and hourly events, so you can stay on top of your important dates and events. It’s the perfect addition that brings it all together whether you are using your smartphone and/or tablet for planning your time.

Can I sync my digital planner and my Google Calendar?

Many people get confused thinking the events and schedules they write on their digital planner are automatically synced to their Google Calendar. That is not a functionality that PDF digital planners will have, since they simply are interactive PDF files. If you really want to sync your planner with your Google Calendar, you can use our digital planners with an App like Zoomnotes, which has advanced features like that. However, we normally don’t recommend Zoomnotes for beginners.

Another very popular option is to have links from your digital planner to your Google Calendar. These links can take you to specific dates and even times of the day, to help you in adding appointments to your Google or Apple Calendar. It is important to mention that the appointments will not synchronize automatically, you have to copy and paste the text into your Calendar and add in events yourself.

This option is a good middle ground since you can still use your favorite PDF annotation App (GoodNotes, Noteshelf, etc. ) and add events to your Google or Apple Calendar whenever needed which only takes less than a minute to do.

Our Google and Apple Calendar links are embedded in the planner in a very minimal and discrete way so that they won’t bother you if you decide not to use them.

Google Calendar Links – Ready to use

Google Calendar links are included in our 2024 planners and can be found in the monthly spreads where you can create all-day events. There are also hourly links on every daily page so you can add appointments at a specific time of the day. All Google Calendar links are ready to use. You need to be logged into your Google account on your iPad. Then, when clicking on the G icon on the dates of the monthly pages or the daily pages, it will open your Google Calendar to the specific date and/or, time where you want to add an event.

Apple Calendar Links – Install this first

Apple Calendar links are included in our 2024 planners but require a simple and short installation process before using them. Instructions will be provided after purchase. Once the setup is in place, you can already click on the letter “A” links on the monthly pages as well as the daily pages and it will lead you to creating a new event on Apple Calendar.

Start planning with Google and Apple Calendar Links

You can have a more detailed planning and scheduling using the daily pages in your DigiSparkles planner. Our daily pages are a versatile space that combines the structure of hourly timestamps with free space on the side for anything you need to manage and organize your day effectively. Whether you want to use it for work or personal things, or both, these can help you keep notes and stay on track.

With the dailies, you can prioritize and list down important tasks on the checklist section and use the timestamps to block your schedule. You can use highlighters, or boxes to show the time blocks of your daily activities. To optimize your productivity, you can also add events to your Google Calendar.

For adding an event in Apple Calendar, tap on the box on the right side of the time stamp and once you have installed our shortcut, you can immediately access the link and add in new events.

The daily pages also have a lot of free space to jot down notes, ideas, reflections, goals, reminders, or simply anything you like. You can also embellish these pages with stickers, photos, and even your own doodles. These pages offer great flexibility so don’t be afraid to experiment with different layouts, color-coding, or additional features that work best for you like habit trackers, productivity grids, meal plans, etc.
